Founders

Józef Orzeł

Józef Orzeł – graduated in 1968 from the Econometrics Department of the Main School of Planning and Statistics in Warsaw. In 1978 he obtained a doctoral degree in philosophy. He conducted publishing activities and managed the joint-stock company Municipium. In 1990 he was among the founders of the political party “Porozumienie Centrum”. In 1991 he was elected as a member of the Polish Parliament, from the list of the “Porozumienie Centrum” candidates. In 1993 he did not stand for re-election, and withdrew from the world of politics. He was the deputy editor-in-chief of the following newspapers: “Tygodnik Solidarność” and “Express Wieczorny”.

He expertise are in the promotion and management of projects in the field of “electronic” society and digital education. He is the Vice President of the „Cities in the Internet” Association and the Chairman of the „Coalition for the Development of the Information Society”. He is a co-founder (together with Rafał Ziemkiewicz) of the Ronin Club and its Chairman. He is also one of the two founders (together with Maciej Świrski) of “Reduta Dobrego Imienia” – The Polish League Against

Maciej Świrski

Maciej Świrski – is a graduate of the University of Warsaw, PMTP University of Wisconsin (Milwaukee), has an MBA degree from Koźmiński University. He has extensive experience in management. He has worked in a number of Polish and foreign companies in the field of new technology, between 2006-2009 he was the Vice President of the Management Board of the Polish Press Agency SA, where he was responsible for technology, finance and the Internet activity of the Company. Currently, he is the Vice Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Polish Press Agency. Between November 2016 and July 2018 he was the Vice President of the Polish National Foundation.

He is a political blogger (he publishes on Salon24.pl and wpolityce.pl). He works voluntarily in several areas related to social activity in order to promote increased community participation within Poland. Examples of these initiatives are: the Citizens 'Commission for National Education, the Citizens’ Movement for the Monitoring of Elections. He is also one of the originators of the renewal of the tradition for recreating the Mystery of the Lord’s Passion in Góra Kalwaria, and for three years he was the Deputy Superior of the Brotherhood of the Mystery of the Lord’s Passion in Góra Kalwaria.

In addition to blog publications, he published a novel „Tytuł Zastępczy” (a Substitute Title), which describes life under martial law in a non-martyrological way.
