Józef Orzeł

Józef Orzeł – graduated in 1968 from the Econometrics Department of the Main School of Planning and Statistics in Warsaw. In 1978 he obtained a doctoral degree in philosophy. He conducted publishing activities and managed the joint-stock company Municipium. In 1990 he was among the founders of the political party “Porozumienie Centrum”. In 1991 he was elected as a member of the Polish Parliament, from the list of the “Porozumienie Centrum” candidates. In 1993 he did not stand for re-election, and withdrew from the world of politics. He was the deputy editor-in-chief of the following newspapers: “Tygodnik Solidarność” and “Express Wieczorny”.

He expertise are in the promotion and management of projects in the field of “electronic” society and digital education. He is the Vice President of the „Cities in the Internet” Association and the Chairman of the „Coalition for the Development of the Information Society”. He is a co-founder (together with Rafał Ziemkiewicz) of the Ronin Club and its Chairman. Jan Pietrzak

Jan Pietrzak – The creator and leader of two satirical cabarets: the student cabaret in “Hybrydy” (1960-1967) and the “Kabaret pod Egidą” (from 1967 to …?). Author of thousands of songs, monologues and articles, reflecting the moods of Poles and Polish reality in the last half-century. The unquestionable leading commentator on the Polish social and political scene during the period when the Poles were breaking free from Communism. His patriotic song „Let Poland be Poland” became the spontaneous anthem of the Solidarity movement in the 1980’s. “Pan Janek’s” sayings, choruses and “mental shortcuts” are remembered by millions of his fans. He introduced a new narrative style to cabaret, a style that later found many followers. He was called the „godfather” of cabaret. He was the patron of many talented people, whom he helped along the road to success and popularity. He also made powerful enemies who did not make his life easy. It is a fact, that a real satirist has to pay a high price for the courage to joke about inflated egos.

He is the Founder of the “Patriotic Society”, in which initially “Reduta Dobrego Imenia” found a formal organization framework. For this we thank you!

Tadeusz M. Płużański

Tadeusz M. Płużański – A journalist – historical and political commentator. He specializes in post-war Polish history. He has worked and cooperated with the World Association of Home Army Soldiers for many years. His articles appear in, among others „Gazeta Polska” and „Gazeta Polska Codziennie”, „W Sieci”, „Do Rzeczy”, „Nasza Polska”, „W Najwyższym Czasie!”, „Tygodnik Solidarność”, and the following portals www.wpolityce.pl, http:// rebelya.com

Head of the Opinions Department of the daily newspaper “Super Express”. Author of the book „Bestie” (Beasts) – in which he investigates and writes about unresolved communist crimes in Poland. In 2012 this book received the Józef Mackiewicz’s literary award. His subsequent books are: „Bestie 2” (Beasts 2) and „Oprawcy. Zbrodnie bez kary” (Executioners. Crimes without punishment).

He was the author of the appeal to ex-President Bronisław Komorowski for a dignified burial for the remains of the “Żołnierze Wyklęci” (the Banished/Cursed Soldiers), murdered by the Communists in the Rakowiecka prison in Warsaw, and whose remains were thrown into unmarked death pits, later known as “Kwatera Ł” in the Wojskowy Powązki Cemetery. From December 2012, the President of “Fundacja Łączka”.

He is the son of the philosopher, prof. Tadeusz Płużański, who was – during the German occupation of Poland (1939-1945), a member of the Tajna Armia Polska (Secret Polish Army) and AK (Home Army). After 1945 a Banished/Cursed Soldier, a close associate of Captain Witold Pilecki, and a prisoner of both German and Stalinist torture chambers.

Marcin Wolski

Marcin Wolski – Writer, journalist and satirist. He writes a regular column for “Gazeta Polska” and “Tygodnik   Solidarność”. Since January 2013 he writes a weekly column for “Do Rzeczy”. He is a member of the Polish Writers’ Association and the Free Word Association. Since April 2016, he is the head of the editorial team and one of the presenters of the week-day satirical program „W tyle wizji” (Behind the scenes) broadcast on TVP Info. In July 2016, he became the Director of Polish Television’s second channel (TVP2).
