The Analysis and Documentation Department of the Good Name Redoubt has prepared the latest Report entitled. „The response of the United States of America to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine”. Prepared by our team of specialists, the Report is intended to give you an insight into the process of shaping the decisions that the United States has taken in favour of Ukraine. As in any democratic country, the positions of the representatives of the opposing parties differed, but nevertheless a consensus was forged, which is revealed in the assistance that the US is showing to Ukraine.

The first part of the Report presents, among other things, the key votes that took place in the US Congress that demonstrated the emergence of a cross-party consensus on aid to Ukraine. In the next part of the Report, we present an analysis of the opposition consensus towards aiding Ukraine and undermining Russia in the US Congress, the information contained in this section is intended to provide an insight into the actions taken by US Congressional representatives, such as bills, bi-partisan decisions and agreements reached.

The report discussing the action taken by the United States also includes an analysis of the position of the informal leader of the Republican Party, Donald Trump, who, as a former president, is a major voice in US domestic politics. It is worth mentioning that, from the very beginning of the war, Donald Trump indicated that, had he been president, the Russian invasion would not have happened at all. Donald Tramp’s position before and after the Russian attack on Ukraine and his statements concerning Russia, as well as the actions of the current US government, are extensively discussed in the Report.

In the next section of the Report, we outline Ted Cruz’s position on aid to Ukraine. Senator Ted Cruz is regarded as a politician belonging to the Republican Party establishment and a strong supporter of aid to Ukraine, while at the same time consistently criticising the actions of the Biden administration in the area of domestic policy.
