With great sadness and a heavy heart, we write to you to share some extremely difficult news. Polish League Against Defamation, an organization that has tirelessly fought for the good name of Poland and the Polish people for many years, is facing the imminent suspension of its activities.
Despite our efforts and the support we have received from many of you, our organization finds itself in a financial situation that makes it impossible to continue our operations. The decline in donations and grants in recent months, coupled with rising operational costs, has meant that we are unable to sustain our key projects and initiatives.
However, we are effectively reducing our long-term obligations, and in July we will be able to decrease them by 60%, and in August they will be reduced by a total of 80%. Therefore, we are greatly relying on your continued support, because if we can survive this most challenging period, we will be able to maintain the Foundation at a minimal level from September onwards.
We wholeheartedly thank you for your contributions, which are helping us and giving us hope. The response you have shown us during this difficult time is very encouraging. We appreciate both the small and large donations. So far, we have already received 18,500 PLN, leaving us with 11,500 PLN to collect by the end of June. We believe this is achievable, thanks to those who understand that our work is crucial for the future of our country.
For years, Polish League Against Defamation has played a key role in defending historical truth, countering disinformation, and supporting victims of defamation. Our media interventions, educational campaigns, and legal assistance were made possible by your support. Today, looking back at our history, we are proud of the achievements we have accomplished together with you.
However, with a heavy heart, we must admit that without immediate and substantial financial support, we will not be able to continue our mission. Over the past few months, we have taken every possible step to find new sources of funding, but our efforts have not yielded the expected results. The decline in donations and grants, as previously mentioned, has contributed to this situation.
We appeal to you, perhaps with our last, heartfelt plea for help. Every donation, no matter how small, can help us survive this crisis and give us hope to continue our mission. If we are unable to gather the necessary funds, we will be forced to cease our operations, which means the voice defending Poland’s good name on the international stage will be silenced.
