The National Papal March was held on April 2, 2023, the 18th anniversary of the death of St. John Paul II. Thousands of Poles marched through the streets of the capital to commemorate the life, ministry and legacy left by the Holy Father. A community of many thousands of the faithful took part in the March and the gatherings that took place in many Polish cities, not least to uphold the truth and the good name of St. John Paul II, whose legacy is of great importance to many of us. The Holy Father was beloved by the Polish people and became a rock and hope at a time when Poland was enslaved by the communist regime. Saint John Paul II was revered by the whole world, and became an example of faith, love and peace for millions of people.

We would like to sincerely thank all the Supporters who joined the Polish League Against Defamation on April 2. For our Foundation, it was a great honor to be able to participate with you in this meaningful event, which proved how many of the truths preached by St. John Paul II remain in us – in the faithful who have embraced the Holy Father’s teachings. Participation in this event showed not only the great importance that the legacy of St. John Paul II has for us, but also the strength of faith and steadfastness that are still alive in the hearts of thousands of Poles. With our attitude, we indicated that we are determined to defend the truth about the life and teaching of the Holy Father, and our steadfastness is able to resist the vilification of the good name of St. John Paul II.

Participation in the National Papal March marked the beginning of RDI’s efforts to defend the good name of St. John Paul II. In the context of publications defaming the Pope, we know that attacks on the figure of the Polish Pope should be treated as a form of disinformation, which aims to introduce false information and negative emotions into public opinion in order to create chaos. It is worth emphasizing that the negative consequences of such actions are not limited to image damage, but also affect the perception and functioning of institutions such as the Church.

The Polish League Against Defamation activities are aimed at counteracting the harmful effects of such disinformation by promoting the truth and a positive image of St. John Paul II. It is worth mentioning here that in situations where public opinion is dominated by disinformation, the message of truth can be an extremely effective tool against manipulation. Hence the activity that the RDI wants to undertake by acting to defend the Holy Father’s good name.

Project „In Defense of St. John Paul II”.

We want to launch a module in the Rycerz system, which is a dedicated tool that searches for various types of defamation (false memory codes, e.g. „Polish camps”). We have developed assumptions and would soon like to launch a module that will search, defined by RDI specialists, for phrases/texts that violate the good name of St. John Paul II. The system will monitor 24 hours, 7 days a week the Internet space for defamatory content. Another component of the project is the analysis and verification of content that has been retrieved by the system. This activity will be carried out by the team of DDIA’s Documentation and Analysis Department, which will prepare a report indicating publications that require intervention, after appropriate verification (including the necessary translations) of each individual case. The DDIA team will select the appropriate tools for effective intervention in each case.

In view of the events surrounding the attack on St. John Paul II, we see an urgent need for the „In Defense of St. John Paul II” project. Defending the good name and memory of the Polish Pope is an activity that defines our mission. We are committed to protecting the good name of Poland and the Polish nation, and St. John Paul II is the symbol and heritage of our homeland.

We know that the „In Defense of St. John Paul II” project is particularly important and necessary to counter disinformation actions striking at the good name of the Polish Pope. By implementing the module in the Knight system, we will be able to monitor and counteract slanderous content that harms the memory of St. John Paul II. However, this important task requires significant financial resources. Therefore, we ask everyone who shares our goals and values to help our organization with financial support. Every contribution, even the smallest, is very valuable to us.

Thanks to your financial support, we can not only defend the good name of St. John Paul II, but also continue our work on other projects aimed at defending the truth about Poland and carrying out activities related to its history. By supporting Polish League Against Defamation financially, you enable us to continue RDI’s mission and help us fight propaganda and disinformation. Thanks to this help, we have the opportunity to unmask history and promote the truth about Poland and Poles.

We sincerely thank all those who have supported the Polish League Against Defamation financially. Your help is invaluable and is a key source of sustenance for us. Your generosity and support give us the strength to act. Once again, we sincerely thank you!

Yours sincerely
